Martin 1940 D-18

$ 9995

1940 Martin D-18, the holy grail of Martin Dreadnoughts. With minty examples fetching $30-$40k, this great playing and sounding D-18 is a great value. This guitar has had extensive work along the way, it now needs nothing and it sounds amazing. There are two repaired top cracks that have been professionally addressed. Neck has been reset and action is nice and low up and down the neck. The original tuners have been replaced by smooth working Grover tuners. There is a repaired crack on one side of the back of the headstock that is solid. Nut width is 1 11/16. Original pickguard has been replaced with an exact sized replica. The body and headstock have been oversprayed with laquer, not the back of the neck. Original inlays have been replaced along the way with pearl Dove inlays. Fretboard has been refretted and inlays have been replaced with pearl Dove inlays as seen in pics. This is a players guitar, all work has been professionally done, and it plays beautifully. Full rich sound that you'd expect from this classic Martin dreadnought.
